Continuance Immersive Commemoration: Santee Smith is Chancellor of McMaster University and a renowned Canadian choreographer, dancer, and artistic director of the Kaha:wi Dance Theatre, an acclaimed Indigenous performing arts company. Kaha:wi Dance Theatre is celebrated for its innovative productions that blend traditional and contemporary Indigenous dance forms, creating powerful and culturally rich performances. Their show “Continuance” explores themes of resilience, healing, and the enduring spirit of Indigenous people. Through evocative choreography and compelling storytelling, “Continuance” invites audiences to reflect on the ongoing journey of Indigenous cultures and their vibrant presence in the modern world. In this unique LIVELab event, Smith and dancers will give insights into the creative process of communication and healing through dance.
